The CDX will be available from November and include the new MyLink infotainment system.
MyLink is a seven-inch colour touch screen for displaying music information along with smartphone connectivity.
Like a smartphone, MyLink supports information and entertainment apps, the first of which will be Stitcher Smart Radio.
In early 2013, Pandora Internet Radio and TuneIn will become available. Holden says that MyLink will be the first in-car system to support Pandora.
A low-cost navigation system called BringGo will also be available - the app is loaded on a smartphone with the MyLink display showing the maps and relaying instructions.
"We know light car buyers are increasingly looking for a level of standard features that you would typically find in a larger car.
"One of the features most sought after by buyers is an advanced audio system that works with their smartphone," Holden's Marketing Manager for Small cars, Emma Pinwill, said.
The CDX also rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels and sports front foglamps, reverse parking sensors, heated front seats and leather steering wheel and shifter.
The Barina Spark will gain the option of an automatic transmission from January 2013.
"With 68 percent of light cars sold year to date featuring an automatic transmission...now is a great time to be introducing this option to the Barina Spark line-up," Ms Pinwill said.
Pricing for the new CDX and Spark CD Auto will be released closer to their on-sale dates.
