Get the best price on a new Skoda Octavia
Skoda's next-generation Octavia small car has been spied testing once more, this time on video and with less camouflage.
This new video, taken by an eagle-eyed fan, follows a series of spy shots caught earlier this month. While the car's finer details are still obscured, we can see the new model taking shape.
The video also comes after the release of a promotional clip of Skoda's new Rapid light sedan, which teased a first look at what could be the Czech brand's next production model.
The identity of the car is unclear, although it is possible that this image previews a conventional hatch companion to a dedicated sedan version of the new Octavia.
In its current form, now eight years old, the Octavia is offered as a sedan-like liftback hatch and as a wagon.
The next Octavia will ride on Volkswagen's new MQB platform, which also underpins the new Golf hatch and Audi A3 models.
We can also expect to see the same four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines revealed with the new Golf, along with a new version of the Octavia RS hero model.
Skoda is also understood to be developing a five-door version of the Rapid sedan, although the unique front and rear tail-lights of the teased hatch sketch, along with the clearly longer wheelbase, suggest it is an unrelated model.
The design of the rendering, overlayed with details of the interior seating layout, also bears more than a few similarities to the VisionD concept revealed early last year.
For now, Skoda is saying nothing. Watch this space for more details in the coming months.

Perception's a tricky thing, ain't it. Take a look at the specs of each though, and you'll see the examples you've offered - both in wheelbase and in overall length - are significantly larger than the Octavia. Relatively speaking, that is.
Apart from that, the Octavia is listed by VFACTS, in Australia, as a small car.

Sure says something about VFACTS, though. The Octavia definitely straddles the line - it's not Golf size, but it's noteably smaller than the 6, etc.
