2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Gets 3.6 V6 For Australia

Mike Stevens | Sep 12, 2012

The top-shelf Overland specification in Jeep's Grand Cherokee line-up is now available with the carmaker's 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine.

Priced at $65,000 (plus on-roads), the V6 petrol Grand Cherokee Overland enters beneath the existing petrol V8 and diesel six, both priced at $69,500.

As it does in the Limited and Laredo grades, the Pentastar-powered Overland offers 210kW of power and 347Nm of torque.

Matched with a five-speed sports automatic transmission, fuel consumption is listed at 11.0 l/100km. Braked towing capacity is listed at 2268kg.

Standard features in the petrol V6 Overland include ash wood and Nappa leather trim, Alpine audio with nine speakers, subwoofer and 506-watt amplifier.

There's also automatic headlights and wipers, power folding exterior mirrors with memory, heated and auto-dimming functions, heated and ventilated front seats and steering wheel, 'media centre' with 16.5cm touch screen, GPS navigation, voice command and Uconnect phone system, and 20-inch painted aluminium wheels.

Nice but I've been hanging out for the 8-speed auto (on the new Italian based V6 diesel). The 8-speed has been slated for the Grand Cherokee Laredo and the Chrysler 300c range. Huge waiting list for the 5-speed Laredo. :o(
