Audi's RS 5 Cabriolet will make its world debut not at a motor show, but on the world wide web, the carmaker has confirmed.
Set for a global online unveiling this week, the topless performer's first official appearance will be streamed live on the internet - and you can watch it here on TMR.
For now, the soft-top RS 5 has been been seen only in the customary camouflage of confusing swirls as engineers complete final shakedown testing.
Don't expect too many surprises on the styling front, however. With the RS 5 already available in Coupe form, the only difference here will be the absent roof.
The RS 5 coupe model has been on sale in Australia since 2010, but this will be the first time a soft-top version will be offered.
The Cabrio's mechanical package is also expected to carry over from the Coupe, with power delivered by a 331kW 4.2 litre V8 and 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission.
In the Coupe, that combination shunts occupants to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, and 200km/h in 10.9 seconds. Expect the convertible to fall a little shy of those numbers.
Keep your eye on this page for the RS 5 Cabriolet's unveiling on September 6, 10pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.
