The folks over at Carscoop have managed to ‘locate’ a new teaser image for the upcoming Lotus ‘Project Eagle’ due to make its much anticipated public debut at the British Motor Show in July. In a follow-up to the provacative shot of a suspension module, Lotus have released a front end view of the all new sportscar under a sheet, headlights ablaze. It’s clearly a Lotus.

Like the rest of the Lotus range, Project Eagle is reported to be Toyota powered, in this case the engine in question is believed to be a 3.5-liter V6, the same one that can be found under the bonnet of our locally produced Aurion sedan.

Reports indicate that the 3.5-litre V6 has been ‘highly modified’ by Lotus and produces 200kW - or the same as it does in the Aurion. No-doubt Lotus have retuned the V6 to suit its new performance application but ‘highly modified’ would appear to be a mild exaggeration.

The news however gets better, much better. Word has it that Lotus are currently developing a turbocharged version of the V6 for fitment to Project Eagle and that’s a whisper with ‘supercar’ written all over it.
