Infiniti has revealed pricing and specifications for its two-car Australian line-up this week, ahead of the brand's August market debut.

Arriving with the FX SUV and M sedan, at $83,900 and $87,00 respectively, the Infiniti brand will enter at a higher price point than its key rivals - but with more power and more kit for your dollar.

From launch, the brand will be available at just three dealerships - one each in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane - with showrooms scheduled to open in Perth and Adelaide from late 2013.

Models

The range will launch with the sporting FX SUV and the large M sedan, with three models in each line-up.

Infiniti FX SUV

The FX range will include the FX37, FX30d and FX50. Depending on the specification, the SUV will be offered in entry-level GT, mid-level S and top-shelf S Premium trim grades.

The FX37 is powered by Nissan's familiar 3.7 litre V6 petrol engine, producing 235kW and 370Nm of torque. The FX37 lists fuel consumption figures at 12.1 l/100km.

Infiniti promises a 0-100km/h time of 6.8 seconds.

For diesel fans, the FX30d is driven by a 3.0 litre V6 turbodiesel, delivering 175kW and a hefty 550Nm of torque. The diesel lists fuel use at 9.0 l/100km. The 0-100km/h sprint is listed at 8.3 seconds.

Topping out the FX range is the hero 5.0 litre petrol V8-powered FX50, offering 287kW and 500Nm of torque.

Fuel use is listed at 13.1 l/100km - just a litre more than the V6 petrol. As the most powerful model in the line-up, the FX50 is also the quickest, listing a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds.

All three FX variants are equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

Infiniti M Sedan

The M sedan range features three models and, depending on the specification, three trim grades: GT, GT Premium and S Premium.

The entry-level M37 is driven by the same 3.7 litre engine in the FX, delivering 235kW and 360Nm of torque.

Fuel consumption is listed at 10.2 l/100km, and Infiniti promises a 0-100km/h run of 6.2 seconds.

For the M30d, power is again provided by the 3.0 litre turbodiesel V6, delivering 175kW and 550Nm. Fuel use is listed at 7.5 l/100km, and the 0-100km/h sprint at 6.9 seconds.

Topping the range is the vaunted M35h hybrid, powered by a 225kW 3.5 litre V6 paired with a 50kW electric motor, offering 350Nm of torque.

Fuel use for the hybrid is listed at a low 6.9 l/100km, and a 5.5 second sprint to 100km/h is promised - making it quicker to the ton than Porsche's Panamera S.

All three models are available with a rear-wheel-drive layout only, matched exclusively with a seven-speed automatic transmission - each offering a manual shifting mode.

Features

The standard and optional features list for the Infiniti range is expansive.

Across the two-car line-up, standard features for GT grades include 18-inch alloy wheels (20-inch on FX), adaptive bi-xenon headlights, leather seat trim, 10-way power adjustable front seats with two memory settings, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control and a sunroof.

There is also a eight-inch touchscreen display with a 30gb satellite navigation hard-drive system, 10gb music storage (six speakers in M, 11 in FX), a rear-view camera, and USB/aux/Bluetooth connectivity.

The S Premium models get 20-inch wheels, steering-mounted paddle shifters, sports suspension, four-wheel active steering, larger brakes and Dynamic Cornering Enhancement. There is also an around-view display.

For the M35h-only GT Premium grade, there's also a 16-speaker Bose sound system, a powered rear-window shade, intelligent cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot warning and lane departure warning.

For the FX, the base models get 20-inch alloy wheels, while the up-spec variants roll on larger 21-inch hoops.

All Infiniti cars are covered by a four-year/100,000km warranty and a roadside assistance service that, uniquely, covers whatever vehicle the Infiniti customer is driving - even if it is not an Infiniti, and not their own car.
