2013 Lexus LS F Sport Teased Ahead Of July Unveiling

Lexus has dished up the most revealing 'teaser' yet of its 2013 LS sedan, ahead of the big limo's unveiling next week - but not before a pair of revealing images surfaced online this morning.

This new image, along with the shots obtained by Chinese website XCar, reveal that the 2013 LS will likely be a major update to the current car, rather than an all-new model.

It is clear that the new LS F Sport variant will get the now familiar 'Spindle' grille design, along with new GS-inspired headlights and reshaped tail-lights.

We can likely also expect a new interior for the 2013 LS, along with a host of new luxury-focused technologies and an upgraded engine range.

Little else is known about the new LS, although Lexus has confirmed four variants: entry-level LS 460, LS 460 F Sport, and the long-wheelbase LS 460 L and LS 600h L models.

Coming less than a year on from the unveiling of the new GS range, the debut of the next LS will also follow the recently revealed ES sedan and updated RX SUV.

Recent reports have suggested Lexus may be considering dropping the V8 engine from the top-shelf 600h hybrid model, potentially replacing it with a version of the 3.5 litre six-cylinder in the new GS 450h hybrid.

Highlighting the brand's renewed focus on the driving experience, the new LS 460 F Sport will bring unique styling inside and out, along with larger wheels and brakes, and enhanced handling characteristics.

Silhouetted against a dark background (shown above), the brief cameo of the never-before seen car wears the familiar Lexus 'spindle' grille design and bold new headlights.

Watch for full details on the new LS to come with the car's unveiling on July 30 (July 31, Australian time).

Must say I wasn't a fan of this new "spindle grille" but it does make their vehicles stand-out and gives the brand a lot of character.
