Subaru Australia has announced release of its Forester X special-edition SUV in Luxury trim, adding a number of new features to the existing 'X' package.
In X Luxury Edition form, the strong-selling Forester picks up leather trim, 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog-lights, front seat heaters, front wiper de-icers and heated door mirrors.
Priced at $32,990 (recommended drive-away price) for the manual version, the launch X Luxury Edition follows the January debut of the $30,990 Forester X package.
As with the Forester X, the Luxury Edition is powered by Subaru's 2.5 litre four-cylinder boxer petrol engine, delivering 126kW and 235Nm of torque.
Fuel consumption is listed at 9.3 l/100km for both the auto and manual variants.
All Australian Subaru models currently carry 5-star ANCAP crash safety ratings, and the Forester X Luxury Edition also features the DataDot security package.
The Forester remains a top-selling model in the Subaru family, with 1109 Forester SUVs sold in Australia in May, behind the RAV4 (1356), the X-Trail (1518), and the now segment-leading Mazda CX-5 (1680).
