Citroen C4 Aircross On Sale In Australia From July

Mike Stevens | Jun 5, 2012

Citroen's new C4 Aircross SUV will make its Australian debut next month, the French carmaker has confirmed.

Joining the C4 hatch, C4 Picasso people-mover and DS4 crossover, the arrival of the Aircross will mark Citroen's first all-wheel-drive offering in Australia.

Like Peugeot's recently-launched 4008 SUV, the C4 Aircross is built on an extensively modified version of the Mitsubishi ASX platform.

Unlike Peugeot's Outlander-based 4007, the Aircross shares very little externally with its Mitsubishi donor.

Drawing design cues from both its (mechanically unrelated) C4 namesake and the upmarket DS4, the Aircross gets Citroen's familiar new styling tricks.

While full Australian specifications and pricing are still to be revealed, there is much already known about the new SUV, which was unveiled in September last year.

Internationally, the C4 Aircross gets a range of petrol and diesel engines, including a 85kW/152Nm 1.6 litre petrol engine, an 82kW diesel and a more powerful 110kW diesel.

Transmissions include a six-speed manual, a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic, along with two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options.

For now, Citroen's Australian distributor Ateco has confirmed the 110kW diesel engine, and both the two- and four-wheel-drive configurations. Manual and CVT automatic transmissions are also confirmed.

The debut of the C4 Aircross is expected to be followed by the new upmarket DS5 wagon.

Man does the interior ruin the new peugot and this citroen. It just doesn't belong in cars that look this good. It's such a shame.

I like this. The tail lights look Camry-ish But better. The interior is nice with the piano black trim. You can pick the donor car bits though. They could've worked just a bit harder with that

And another thing. Why call it a c4??? There are NO similarities to the c4 in any way. Having different names for all their c4's would give an impression that Citroen have many more m
