A single teaser image for a new Renault model has surfaced online this week, and all signs point to the next-generation Clio hatch.
For its part, Renault has not offered any confirmation on the car, with the image first appearing at the unaffiliated Planeterenault online community.
According to details at the bottom of the image, the teaser comes from a presentation given at a Renault shareholder meeting on April 27.
Using the carmaker's familiar corporate typeface, the image desribes the car as the Nouvelle Renault Clio ("New Renault Clio"), with a 2012 Paris Motor Show debut in September planned.
The cropped image gives away little, but it is clear that the tail-light, upswept C-pillar, integrated door handle and flared rear guard are the same features visible on Clio test cars spied by TMR earlier this year.
The spied five-door reveals more rounded lines than the current model, with Renault's new narrow grille design stretching across the headlights, and a rising belt-line ending in curved rear.
International powertrain options for the new Clio are expected to include small turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, along with a flagship RS performance model.
Watch for more details on the new Clio as we near its Paris debut in September.
