TMR Team | Apr 12, 2012

Hyundai and long-time partner Rhys Millen Racing have revealed the updated version of the team's Genesis Coupe drift car, based on the recently-revealed 2012 model.

Unlike the regular 2012 Genesis Coupe, Millen's racer is powered by a turbocharged version of Hyundai's 3.8 litre Lambda GDi V6.

While the production engine delivers 260kW and 400Nm (up from 248kW and 394Nm), the RMR Genesis Coupe utilises a turbocharged arrangement and other enhancments to deliver a huge 447kW.

Details of the modifications haven't been revealed, but Hyundai says the race car retains the standard engine's block and heads.

The car has already made its race debut this year, at the opening 2012 Formula Drift race in California on April 6.

New Zealand-born Millen sits 6th in the series' rankings, and his next chance to climb the ladder will come on May 11 at Road Alanta.
