Porsche has announced the Australian introduction of the Cayenne GTS: second banana in the big SUV's international line-up.
Entering below the top-shelf 368kW Cayenne Turbo, the GTS is powered by a more highly-tuned version of the naturally-aspirated 4.8 litre V8 engine in the Cayenne S.
Producing 294kW and 500Nm of torque in S form, the V8 engine delivers 309kW and 515Nm for the GTS, transferring power to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission.
The power boost gives the GTS a 0-100km/h time of 5.7 seconds - 0.2 seconds sharper than the regular S variant, but still a full second short of the flagship Turbo's time.
Fuel consumption for the GTS is listed at 10.7 l/100km, up from the S variant's 10.5 l/100km.
Under the skin, the GTS gets an upgraded suspension package, adding Porsche Active Suspension Management and a ride-height 24mm lower than the Cayenne S.
The Cayenne GTS picks up the Turbo model's front-end styling, along with flared wheel guards, large side skirts, new 20-inch RS wheels, gloss-black highlights and a split-wing roof spoiler.
In the cabin, the GTS features eight-way adjustable sports seats, and combination leather/Alcantara upholstery.
The Cayenne GTS is priced from $164,900 and is available now for order, with deliveries beginning in September.
