2009 Kia Forte Teaser Shot Revealed

The upcoming Kia Forte, successor to the Spectra—sold here in hatch form as the Cerato—has been receiving a surprisingly warm greeting online.  This week, another sneak shot has been offered online, in the form of the teaser above.  Evidently, the Forte will take many of its design cues from the Kia Koup concept, which we showed you back in ye olde March.

With hints of the Civic and the Accord Euro, it may not be the most unique face on the market, but it’s certainly going to be a looker nonetheless. It looks as though the successful business strategy of parent company Hyundai has been filtering down through the whole business.

The Forte is expected to debut in Korea in August, with no word yet of an Australian appearance.  Check out another preview shot/illustration after the jump.

haha Kia - its no surprise that another korean car rips the styling from respectable vehicles. Hopefully, eventually, the korean cars will step-up to the plate and produce real, decent vehicles, all they need is experience, like any other car maker.

I believe Kia and Hyundai will go from strength to strength. They are clearly on a mission. I can remember driving a 98 Lantra sport. I was quite impressed and thought at the time “in a few generations these korean things will be up there with the best”. How true. THey compete with the likes of GM and Ford.

I remember reading a quote from an interview with some Toyota head honcho last year. He was asked which carmaker Toyota considered the most dangerous competition. The answer was “Hyundai”.

Kia I’m not yet sure about, but Hyundai have got it covered, that’s for bleedin’ sure. So impressed with them lately. Am I ready to take a Hyundai over something else? Maybe the Genesis or Genesis Coupe, if they’re priced right, but otherwise I’m not *quite* ready. But do I believe they’re a rising star? Absolutely. You’ve only got to look at all of the Initial Quality Satisfaction results and safety scores.

Kia / Hyundai alliance is getting quite advanced in car updates very regularly, quality is high as, designs are slick (mostly) and offer great value for $$$. Still early days and very smartly run and determined to get to top! Kia is great and love the sporty number Koupe (coupe) from US. Beware the other darkhorse in sales…FORD as they are clearly on march with slick lookers awaiting release!
