Bertone's long history of striking concept cars remains intact with the Geneva unveiling of the Nuccio concept this week.

Said to be based on the underpinnings of the Ferrari F430, the V8-powered wedge is, according to the press release, an "extreme sportscar that puts an evolutionary imprint on the concept that is built into Bertone's dna: the mid-rear engined berlinetta.'

The coupe, named after the founder's son Nuccio, was built to celebrate the styling house's centenary.

The gigantic windscreen, dramatic lines and sci-fi vibe were accompanied by models fresh from 1960s sci-fi films, totally in keeping with the coachbuilder's long and distinguished lineage of Italian sports cars.

The rumor is that the Nuccio is for sale and, like the Aventador J, if you have to ask...

The legendary design house's recent works have included the Jaguar-motivated B99 concept, along with the Alfa Romeo Pandion.
