Kia's upcoming flagship sedan, known internally as the KH, has been spied on the roads of its homeland this week, and without a shred of camouflage.

This pair of short videos captured by a savvy motorist (cruising at a lazy 130km/h) offer a first look at the new large car, following a handful of spy photos and teaser artwork in recent weeks.

The clips reveal that the illustrations released earlier this month offered an accurate look at the new car, featuring large lights at the front and rear, a broad new take on the familiar "tiger nose" grille design, and long flowing glasshouse.

For its part, Kia has yet to offer any details on the KH. It is believed that the new car is built on the rear-wheel-drive platform the underpins Hyundai's Genesis, while utilising the same V6 and V8 engine range.

In Korea, the new car will enter above the Optima and Cadenza sedans, sold in Korea as the K5 and K7.

Don't expect this one in Australia however. As with the Genesis, the KH is likely to be built in left-hand-drive only when it makes its market appearance, killing any chance of a local launch for the first model.
