Infiniti's much-hyped Emerg-E sports concept has surfaced online this week, just weeks out from its world premiere at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

The concept's unceremonious unveiling follows months of drip-fed teaser images and, earlier in February, a handful of telling patent application renderings.

While the uninspiring patent images may have left a bitter taste in the mouths of the brand's fans, these official images are sure to revive the faith.

Full details for the Emerg-E have yet to be released, although Infiniti's teaser campaign has revealed more than a few of the concept's finer points.

It is known that the concept is powered by a mid-mounted electric powertrain, utilising a Chevrolet Volt-like range-extending system that adds a battery-charging generator powered by a small petrol engine.

Power and performance figures have not been released, but with its Geneva unveiling only weeks away, all will be known soon enough.

  Besides the well designed aero air-intakes/exhausts scoops amidship the bodywork is fairly traditional. It's in that Honda-Acura NSX, Jaguar XJR15 look.

  Looks good. Reminds me of some of the newer Lotus cars, and that's never a bad thing.
