Renault's upcoming replacement for the ageing third-generation Clio is nearing market, with a global unveiling likely to occur in the coming months - possibly as soon as August's Paris Motor Show.

As these latest spy photos reveal, the 2013 Clio will get Renault's new front-end design, previewed by the likes of the Zoe electric car and its most recent concept cars.

While this new round of testing has seen the new Clio covered in heavier camouflage, Renault has afforded onlookers a clearer look at the test car's grille and lighting arrangement.

The new face incorporates a narrow grille design the flanks the large Renault badge, stretching out to meet the large integrated headlight design.

LED daytime-running lights can be seen in the grille, and we now have a clearer look at the internal design of the headlights.

The five-door Clio shown in earlier photos reveals a more curvaceous body than its predecessor, with a high rising belt-line leading up to handles integrated in the pillar of the rear doors.

The mirros have also been moved out the corner of the A pillar, positioned now on new door panel stalks.

Reports in recent weaks have also touched on the topic of what we'll find under the Clio's bonnet, with a pair of petrol engines and a single diesel expected to feature. Catch that report here.

Watch for more details on the new Clio as it nears its global debut, likely in the middle or end of 2012.
