UPDATE: New teaser image released (see above), and Lexus has confirmed an unspecified hybrid drivetrain.

Well, that's another cat out of the bag: the LFA supercar might be the finest looking Lexus that money can buy, but the carmaker's latest concept may just steal its crown - if it ever enters production.

Revealed today through a series of images that surfaced online in an iPad app preview for US magazine Road & Track, the LF-Lc concept delivers the most aggressive take yet on the carmaker's L-Finesse styling language.

Blending the supercar profile and deep rear brake-ducts of the LFA flagship with the new 'Spindle' grille design, the LF-Lc adds a pair of hooked and stylised 'L' shapes up front, and pumped Supra-like haunches at the rear.

With the leak consisting of nothing more than images, there's little else to know at this stage, except that badging behind the doors points to a hybrid powertrain.

Unless there's an all-new engine onboard, it's likely we'll find the same 3.5 litre V6 hybrid powertrain that drives the new Lexus GS 450h.

In the GS 450h, the system produces 252kW and propels the big sedan to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds. The LF-Lc is likely to weigh a good deal less than the GS, and the engine might also get a show-special power spike.

For now, stay tuned for more details. We expect they won't be far away.
