Suzuki's all-new go-anywhere 2012 V-Strom 650 is now on sale in Australia, carrying the same $10,890 sticker as its predecessor.

Narrower and lighter than the previous model, the new V-Strom 650 benefits from slimmer cowlings, frame cover and rear carrier.

Power for the V-Strom 650 is provided by the same 90-degree liquid-cooled 645cc V-twin that drives the naked SFV650 Gladius, producing 51kW at 8800rpm and 60Nm of torque at 6400rpm.

The V-Strom also benefits from new pistons, a new crankshaft and revised cam profiles, delivering better low to mid-range torque.

It gets tighter gear ratios for the first five gears in the six-speed transmission with a tall top-gear for comfortable cruising.

The 2012 V-Strom 650 is priced at $10,890 (plus on-roads) and is backed by Suzuki's two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.

2012 Suzuki Hayabusa

Suzuki has announced Australian availability of its 2012 model-year Hayabusa and GSR750 motorcycles, bringing new colour schemes and... well, not a whole lot else.

For 2012, the Hayabusa is offered in a new candy-red look, with power coming from the same mental-as-anything 1340cc DOHC four-stroke liquid-cooled inline-four engine. Power remains unchanged (and why shouldn't it?) at 147kW and 139Nm.

The engine is matched to a six-speedtransmission and the Suzuki Clutch Assist System, and pulling the big bird to a halt are dual 310mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc.

Among the Hayabusa's features is a Driver Mode Selector (S-DMS) system, offering three engine maps to suit road conditions and rider preferences.

The 2012 Hayabausa is priced at $18,990 (plus on-roads) and is backed by Suzuki's two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.

2012 Suzuki GSR750

Suzuki has added a new black colour scheme to the GSR750 that first hit Australian roads earlier this year, but as with the Hayabusa, not much else has changed.

Power for the naked GSR750 is provided by a detuned 78kW version of the GSX-R750's 110kW four-cylinder engine, and braking is managed by 310mm dual discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Inverted KYB forks handle duties at the front, and there's an exposed four-into-one exhaust system.

The LCD display in the instrument cluster includes a digital speedometer, gear-position indicator, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, clock and selectable odometer/dual-tripmeter.

The 2012 GSR750 is priced at $12,490 (plus on-roads) and is backed by Suzuki's two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
