If the array of football club and other personalised options just aren't doing it for you, VicRoads will soon offer two new number plate choices: the big guns from DC Comics, and childhood favourites, Looney Tunes.

While some will question the wisdom in offering The Flash ("I'm the fastest man alive, why wouldn't you put me on your plate!" the scarlett speedster asks on the VicRoads website), the chance to supe-up the family hauler will be an appealing option for fans.

Other choices from the DC stable include The Flash's Justice League teammates Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.

Superman's cousin Supergirl will also be available, but Aquaman and The Martian Manhunter are curiously absent.

"We’ve had a lot of early interest, particularly in Superman plates, but clearly there are a lot of fans out there for all these heroes,” VicRoads' Alan Morecroft said.

Another Warner Brothers franchise heading to Victorian number plates is the cast of the classic Looney Tunes family.

The cast includes Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester the cat, Yosemite Sam, Road Runner, Marvin the Martian, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E Coyote and - a likely favourite for ex-pat Tasmanians living in Victoria - Taz the Tasmanian Devil.

Starting at $195, the plates will be available to order online at vplates.com.au from 30 November.
