2012 VOLVO S40 AND V50
For the new model year, the entry-level T5 S S40 and V50 variants gain Rear Park Assist as standard, along with retractable external mirrors, an auto-dimming internal rearview mirror and Volvo's High Performance audio system.
Features already standard with both bodystyles were LED daytime running lights and Bluetooth audio streaming.
Safety features already standard include Volvo's Emergency Brake Light system that warns drivers approaching from behind of impending danger by initiating a flashing mode during emergency braking.
The options list for the S40 and V50 include an electric sunroof, Volvo Navigation System, Xenon headlights, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), alloy wheels up to 18 inches and a lowered sports chassis package.
All S40 and V50 variants are powered by a 169kW turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine, paired with Volvo's five-speed geartronic automatic transmission.
The new T5 Lifestyle variant adds a power driver's seat, leather upholstery, Active Bending Lights with washers, rain sensor wipers and 17- inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Buyers of the updated S40 and V50 will benefit from a sharp price cut - as much as $3,960 in the S40 and V50 R-Design models.
