2012 VOLVO XC70

Volvo's rugged XC70 SUV has come in for 2012 model-year update, following tweaks made to the high-riding wagon earlier this year.

With a focus on safety, the 2012 XC70 gains the latest-generation City Safety technology as standard equipment, along with Volvo's new Driver Control Interface and Volvo Sensus.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Full Auto Brake, Pedestrian Detection and Queue Assist is now available as an option.

All XC70 variants get a power-operated tailgate for 2012, and Volvo's High performance audio system with a seven-inch colour screen and reversing camera as standard.

Volvo's up-spec Teknik pack is also available for the 2012 model, offered with both the 158kW twin-turbo diesel engine and the 179kW 3.2-litre six-cylinder petrol engine.

The Teknik pack adds Volvo Navigation System (VNS), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Active Bending Lights (ABL) and power passenger seat.

There is also new LED mood lighting in the front floor area and behind the "floating" centre stack. There are also new LED indicators in the door mirrors.

Already standard with the XC70 were Volvo's Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), dual-stage driver and passenger airbags, inflatable side curtain airbags and Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) in the front seats.
