Toyota Australia has just released pricing details for their all new 2007 Corolla and for the first time ever the basic Corolla breaks the $20,000 price barrier. Pricing starts at $20,990 (plus dealer delivery and statutory charges) for the manual (now six-speed) transmission Ascent with the automatic available for an extra $2,000. The price increase sees the bigger and better equipped 2007 Corolla lob right in amongst Holden’s Astra, Fords Focus and Honda’s Civic.

As you can see from the pictures the world’s most prolific car has had quite the makeover. Toyota have transformed their Corolla from a boring box into a funky, well proportioned and in Levin trim (pictured directly below) nicely aggressive looking car although the sedan doesn’t wear the new design as well as the hatch. If the old Corolla was a best seller one can only imagine what the new Corolla will be able to achieve for Toyota. The new Corolla may just be enough to restart the long dormant pulses of many Corolla die-hards.
