Lexus has released a telling teaser image of its upcoming 2013 GS medium sedan, revealing just how close the new model's styling will run to its LF-Gh progenitor.

The standout feature of the new sedan's face - and likely all future Lexus models - is an Audi-like hourglass grille, divided top and bottom by a colour-coded insert and surrounded by a chrome frame.

Gone is the 'spindle' grille pattern that Lexus promises will be a feature, however it's likely that we'll see this on the top-end F Sport variants.

Little else is known about the new GS at this stage, although Lexus has confirmed a debut later this month at the Pebble Beach Concors d'Elegance in the US.
