2011 BMW X3 XDRIVE30D
The flagship in BMW's 2011 X3 SUV range has arrived in Australian showrooms this week, following the launch earlier this year of the xDrive20d diesel and xDrive28i petrol models.
The 2011 BMW X3 xDrive30d is powered by BMW's three-litre six-cylinder in-line diesel engine, producing 190kW and 560 Nm of torque (the latter coming between 2000 and 2750rpm). The engine's power figures mark a 30kW and 60Nm increase over its predecessor.
Paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the big diesel accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds, with fuel consumption listed at 6.0 l/100km - down from the previous model's 7.7 l/100km. Carbon emissions are listed at 159g/km, falling from 206g/km.
Standard features for the range-topping xDrive30d include 18-inch alloy wheels, a powered and automatic tailgate, Nevada leather upholstery and electric seat adjustment.
Other new and standard features include automatic Start/Stop function, Comfort Go, electric power steering, a rear-view camera, a 6.5-inch monitor with USB connectivity, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, and roof rails finished in satin aluminium.
Also standard is the X-Line Package, enhancing the X3's exterior styling. The package includes decorative window frame mouldings in satin aluminium, along with satin aluminium side sills and titanium-look inserts in the bumpers.
On the safety front, all 2011 X3 models are equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), active headrests and six airbags. A warning triangle and first aid kit is also provided as standard.
