Volkswagen Australia has announced the local release of the updated Passat CC 125TDI and V6 FSI, adding its award-winning BlueMotion fuel-saving and emissions-cutting technology to the stylish four-door coupe.
The Australian launch of Volkswagen's BlueMotion-equipped Passat CC follows the April debut of the 2012 Passat sedan and wagon, its 125TDI variant gaining the same ultra-green tweaks.
For the 2012 model year, the Passat CC 125TDI features start/stop technology and regenerative brakes as standard.
Thanks to these tweaks, the diesel CC's fuel consumption falls from 6.3 l/100km to 5.7 l/100km, and CO2 emissions fall from 166g/km to 150g/km.
Power figures remain unchanged, with the 2.0 litre turbodiesel engine producing 125kW and 350Nm of torque.
The V6 FSI range-topper is also equipped with the BlueMotion regenerative braking package, bringing fuel consumption down from 10.5 l/100km to 9.7 l/100km. Power remains unchanged at 220kW and 350Nm of torque.
For both the 125TDI and the V6 FSI, buyers can option Volkswagen's driver assistance package, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist and City Emergency Brake functions.
The new Park Assist 2 package is also available (which debuts with the new Passat in April), along with Volkswagen's Lane Assist system.
Adaptive Chassis Control is standard for both variants.
