TOYOTA FT-86 II
The unveiling of Toyota's entry-level FT-86 rear-wheel-drive sports car is drawing nearer. While a launch date has not been announced, Toyota has reportedly confirmed a late 2011 production schedule for its most exciting new model in over a decade.
Drumming up anticipation for the sleek sports car, Toyota has revealed a single teaser image that depicts a new pre-production concept version of the car, this time dubbed simply FT-86 II.
Little else about the production FT-86 has been revealed, although Toyota added "the FT-86 II will give the clearest indication yet of the final design for Toyota's next sports car."
From the single image offered today, it's clear that whatever other changes will be made to the FT-86's original design, its sharp and narrow headlights will remain.
The new concept will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, along with Subaru's own version of the new sports car, developed in partnership by the two Japanese carmakers.
