NihonCar have posted a couple of images from Subaru Magazine, purported to be a preview of the next—and likely last—facelift for the Subaru Liberty (sold throughout the rest of the world as the Legacy).  The example shown is the B4, a badge which last saw light in Australia on the third generation Liberty, and is now marketed here in the fourth generation Liberty range as the Liberty GT.

One would have to assume that if this facelift is legitimate, it would have to be the last before an all-new model.  With Mazda and Honda both having already revealed and brought to market their new all-new 6 and Accord models, the Liberty—while still a beautiful sedan—is starting to get a bit long in the tooth.  More details after the jump.

So what’s different about this facelift? The only obvious change to the front is the streamlined headlights, reminiscent of the first generation Mazda6.

Along the side we can see more significant changes.  Two new creases have been added to the sheetmetal; a swage along the top of the door handles, and a more defined swooping line in the lower doors.  It is also interesting to note that the door windows now appear to be fully framed, whereas before they were frameless windows resting against a fixed B pillar.

Finally, the rear shows some re-touching to the tail lights.  Split into two halves, both segments of the lights have a dip in the centre as they meet the boot lid.

What do we think folks?  Does this facelift bring the new Liberty more in line with the rest of the market, or does Subaru need to think about getting the all-new Liberty to market sooner rather than later?
