SYDNEY'S PARKING RANGERS are set to become the new reality stars of Australian TV, with Channel Nine confirming this week that it has teamed up with a number of local councils for a new series.

Dubbed The Enforcers, the show will see rangers from the Warringah Council followed by a film crew, with the aim of offering a "candid and positive portrayal of the men and women serving the local community".

Sutherland Council, expected to vote next week on whether it will participate in the new show, said that if involved, it would aim to "humanise" the much-maligned job.

The councils are expected to have the right to veto footage before it is aired, in an agreement similar to that made with Surf Life Saving Australia for the Bondi Rescue reality show.
