LEXUS AUSTRALIA HAS announced a series of updates to the LandCruiser-based 2010 Lexus LX 570, including specification upgrades and basic styling tweaks.
For the 2010 model year, Lexus has dropped the LX 570 Prestige, with a new Sports variant joining the existing Sports Luxury. The new Sports model gains a centre console cool-box, rear seat entertainment system and roof rails.
Both the Sports and Sports Luxury models gain an upgraded navigation system and user interface, along with USB connectivity and 12-volt sockets in the cargo areas.
Headlight washers now feature on both models and updated privacy glass - or 'tinted windows' in the old parlance - features at the rear on both cars.
Cementing its place at the top of the range, the Sports Luxury now wears 10-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels and a sports body-kit with front and rear spoilers - tweaks which Lexus describes as a more muscular appearance.
"Upgrades to LX 570 will add further appeal to those wanting to take their Lexus off-road, with Sports models becoming the premium Lexus off-roader," Lexus CEO Tony Cramb said.
"For those who want the space and safety offered from LX 570, Sports Luxury models will feature greater visual muscle, and the safety of side, front and reversing cameras - vital in negotiating the suburban jungle," said Mr Cramb.
The 2010 LX 570 Sports starts at $149,500, and the LX 570 Sports Luxury at $165,400. Prices are Manufacturer's List Price and do not include dealer-delivery and on-road costs.

That's a truly awful bodykit on the Lexus, but at least you'd have true off-road ability in the LX as opposed to the X5M. Which is all the more reason why the body kit on the Lexus doesn't make sense.

What a waste of off road capability too. Why don't they make 2 wheel drive versions of these with no off road ability for the street warriors? It would cost about $30,000 les, more fuel efficient and be quicker too.

C'mon Toyota, what were you thinking?.
I agree with all the above criticism's, talk about politically incorrect and what about that fat fugly ***?.
Oh the humanity is right!.
Just slap on a few plastic bits and a Lexus badge and its no longer a Toyota, right?.wrong!.
Oh and I'd check to see if the brakes work too.

When Top Gear Australia or another Australian automotive program tested this new Lexus with a Range Rover Vogue and another luxury off roader - the amount of red DUST that came into the car through CLOSED vents was horrible! Even the driver was full of red outback dust! Wonder if the LandCruiser does the same?

You're bringing yourself out of market domination and letting your more worthy competitors take over in quality, price and sales.
I'd even go Touareg R50, X5M, maybe the big naziwagon Q7. Everything copes better than this nasty LX.
