TMR News and Features
Nissan’s replacement for their 350Z is on the way and our hunger for 370Z information is correspondingly on the rise. So far we have had to ‘make do’ with a rather grainy mobile phone camera image but thankfully all that changed when the above image lobbed into Dan’s inbox earlier today. If this is the ‘real deal’ then we have our first good look at Nissan’s next Z-car.
Assuming it is, then Nissan have tightened the lines for the 370Z (codename C53D), while staying true to the overall shape of the current 350Z, more evolution than revolution. The front headlights are the only dramatically obvious new addition and are now the focal point of the new Zeds styling. In addition to the dramatic new shape, the front headlights are believed to use LED technology.
The 370Z’s bonnet has lost most of the bulge seen in the current VQ35HR-equipped 350Z, a fact which suggests that the 246kW 3.7-litre VQ37VHR tipped to power the 370Z is mounted lower than the outgoing motor.
The 370Z is not due to make its official debut until the Los Angeles motor show beginning on November 19 this year.

Photoshop. Look at the nastiness around the bottom corner of the headlight.

The mirrors look kind of similar to the old three fitty…
I’m not so sure about this new look. Might look cool in black with some bling’n rims. Otherwise I’m not a fan of those ‘tusks’
And BM, have you seen all the Lancers and Excels and stuff with the E36 mirrors on? Used to sh*t me when I had the E36, but not as much as now seeing R33 GTS skylines with GTR badges on!

There are also a lot of old Street Machines Hot Rods Holdens and Fords around with BMW style wing mirrors
The tusks look stupid where are the obligatory fog/driving lights meant to go?

Where’s the 240Z-style kink in the belt-line as it leads up to the c-pillar? I call hoax!
Besides, why would a promo shot (and I assume it’d have to be an accidentally leaked promo shot - it’s a pretty sharp photo) be taken in a regular suburban street? I call shenanigans!
Hoaxes and shenanigans.

I’m with you Mike, it just doesn’t match up with the leaked mobile phone shot from a couple of weeks ago.
And where the hell did those ‘gills’ come from anyway?

Youch! I was excited there for a moment. Had that “TMR Exclusive” feel about it but you guys have dashed my hopes. Nothing a cold frothy won’t fix though…
You’re right tho, when compared to the mobile phone shot the other day it is missing the kink and is a bit too ‘pressed and dressed’. The mobile shot showed more curves and less hard creases. dammit.

A bit late to the party carlover… If you read above we all worked out it wasn’t real in late May - well before LLN put up their version of the image on July 9. Did you think to look at the dates?
And they are different - did you have a close look or were you just trying to be a smarty pants? You were trying to be a smarty pants weren’t you
Now, do you have anything interesting to say about the 370Z? If you do then we would be keen to hear from you because THATS what the comment section is all about.
