Despite dominating new car sales in Australia, Toyota has no plans to relax its marketing efforts preferring to remain on the offensive - a stance they know well.
Upping the ante in the competitive light-car segment is Toyota’s recently announced special-edition Yaris RUSH. Available for a limited time, Yaris RUSH is based on the YR 5-door hatch version of Australia’s most popular light car.
“So far this year, Yaris is again the top-selling compact car in Australia, with customers buying an average of more than 2,200 cars a month. This puts Yaris more than 3,500 sales ahead of the nearest rival - a margin of almost 65 per cent - which reflects its value, space and performance. Yaris competes in a crowded segment with 22 rivals yet accounts for better than one in every five sales of light cars,” said Toyota Australia’s divisional manager national marketing Tony Cramb
The special-edition model adds value to the Yaris by providing more than $1000 of added specification for just $500.
Upgrades include a move to 15-inch alloys from the YR’s 14-inch steel rims and the standard single disc CD player is replaced with a six-stack system. Bluetooth connectivity is also added along with foglamps, “Yaris”-branded mats and a special-edition badge.
Other standard Yaris features include twin front airbags, air-conditioning, anti-skid brakes, power windows and mirrors, seatbelt pretensioners and force limiters for the front seats and power steering.
The Yaris RUSH is mechanically unchanged and features the usual 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine available with either a five-speed manual for $16,890 or a four-speed automatic for $18,390.
Both standard and special edition Rush models offer an optional enhanced safety pack at $750 that incorporates side and curtain airbags, while metallic paint is a $300 option.

Did you get out on the wrong side of bed 280zx!!! haha
I think that a Roush edition would be alot better than a Rush edition
I think that a “Roush” Edition would be better
pretty cool lookin little runaround i reckon… maybe prefer a mazda2 if i wuz in the market for somethin like that but i reckon this is still pretty cool
i think id buy the suzuki swift for that money!

Yes you should i reckon you should get the most out of it like any toy you have haaaaaa!
Sad………..I miss mine ! No its not Wheelnut, even though I miss him too………
Wheelnut did suggest on the site last night they should have got a Roush one now a Rush one, now that would have made a normally boring Toyota exciting .So Toyota are throwing in $1000 worth of extras for $500 ,I guess thats what they cost them so their not out of pocket are they ?
Proberly cost them $1000 to make the the thing ? Dunno just dont like the look of these cars at all..
Agree 280zx. There are better cars of the same type for a similar price.
Herooooooooo Watto _F6, new name? mmmmm Should be more like WATN-F6 ? Or WANTA-F6 .Then again your getting one so Watto’s-F6 sounds better. Worked out the avitar thingy babe? O god did they mention curtain airbags……{quickly looks over shoulder for approaching fire}
Haha, “WANTA-F6″ is bang on BM. By years end should be good. So the name change was due
Yep, avatar was easy once you pointed me to gravatar. Angel eyes look mean in yours.
I’m with you Tony n. The Swift GTi is a neat little pocket rocket with a very modern edgy design and better handling interior etc.. well worth the money
I have a new yaris rush and its a great little everyday run about car. Cant complain at all!
The Yaris Rush is a great car. All the extras make it a great deal especially the 6 cd stacker and bluetooth.
For a brand new car that is under 20k driveaway is it well equipped and definitely worth the money.
If you are in the market for a small car and under 20k budget this is definitely the car. The only other small car that is as good as this is the Mazda 2, however the Yaris is better value as for the same money it has more features are ongoing costs are also cheaper. The Yaris offers fixed servicing costs at $120 per service.
I just got one of these cars it is fantastic i love it and so do all my friends cheap safe car…….. A+++++++++++++
MY COUSIN JUST GOT ONE OF THESE CARS AND SHE LOVES IT TO DEATH…THEY ARE A GREAT CAR THAT IS GOOD ON FUEL AND SAFE TO DRIVE…MY BESTFRIEND HAS A MAGNA AND I LIKE THAT WAY BETTER AS THERE IS WAY MORE ROOM…. ANYWAY JUST CALL ME ANZ

280sx..
doesnt suck fuel as fast as you fill it
i get 600-650k’s off a full tank that i fill up ONCE a week with BP Ultimate the most i have ever spend using that is $70 on fuel.
pretty decent if you ask me
I have just purchased a Yaris Rush.. I love it.. It’s a great Cheap little car, and well Equiped.. I agree with you Jessica, they don’t chew fuel as bad as what people say.. I generally get 2 weeks out of a tank of fuel, as I am located in the Country… But I love my car and the extra’s that comes with it, do really make a great deal.
“Oh what a feeling TOYOTA”
