Just shy of its unveiling, official images of Renault’s new Laguna Coupe have found their way onto the blogosphere and what a little hottie it is!
Gone are the concepts hidden door handles and LED lights but thankfully the sweet curves have remained in the gene pool, not quite the same as the concept but still very easy on the eye.
Expect 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.5-litre V6 petrol powerplants to be offered. There is also the possibility that the 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel which powered the concept will make an appearance in the production version.
With the unveiling just a few hours away all will be known shortly, in the meantime Renault fans enjoy the sneak peak!

Looks like an smaller cheaper Aston Martin with just a hint of aHyundai Tiburon [at the front] and an Astra SRi 3 door [in profile]
I was trying to work out what really appealed about the styling of this car and the highlight (for me) is the side profile with that sharp crease running from the front guard to the rear - it IS very Aston Martin wheelnut.
I don’t really like the almost perfect semi-ellipse that the window line forms, but otherwise it’s pretty nice.
So I take it you don’t like cars like the the Aston Martin Vantage Audi R8 or Bugatti Veyron either which; like most classic sports cars - the sweep of their roofline is almost a perfect circular arc [elipse]which means the curve of the windows follows the same line.
the more flowing curves the more aerodynamic the design - there are no straighlt line in nature just look at how easily a bird or flies through the air or a dolphin cuts through the water
looks pretty good from the side and rear but from the front the new laguna’s look like Lisa Simpson in the episode where she had the mumps…..not good!!
and yes i have three children so i’ve had to put up with many re-runs of many shows not just the Simpson’s!
The diffenence in the window line between an Aston and the renault is that the Aston is squared off at the c-pillar - it does make a difference. Compare the Laguna to the DB9 in the article above.
it’s a real amazing car: you can see a lot more of this bab on its actual website (http://www.laguna-coupe.com)…website is awesome I must say…and if you like that there’s a very good video of the laguna coupe at Monaco on You Tube
