THE WINNING ENTRY in a recent Toyota Australia-sponsored film contest has been pulled after a backlash erupted online over the clip's racy dialogue.
The video, titled "Clean Getaway", sees a young man describing the Yaris hatch's virtues to his girlfriend's father, using terms loaded with double meanings.
The commercial won its creator a $7000 prize and the judges' praise, despite the competition's rules that the entries not be "immoral" or containing "obscene language".
While not all agreed, comments on the contest's Facebook page argued that the video had "incestuous overtones" and that it was "very offensive and incredibly degrading to women".
Speaking with advertising industry news website Mumbrella, Toyota Australia's Todd Connolly said, "We wouldn't distance ourselves from it [the video] by any means."
Whoops... there go the best-laid plans.

What I really find hilarious is the whole "incestuous" thing; where?!? What sort of sick person has that on their minds to actually see this non-existant overtone?

Some people are delusional and see & hear what they wanna hear I suppose.
I get the humour of the ad, and although I'm not a Toyota fan, they could've gone for an ad that was less 'tacky'
And any man who's got a pair, wouldn't be driving a Yaris, so they got that wrong in a huge way ...
