2010 S5 Cabriolet Launched In Australia

JOINING THE S5 COUPE and based on the A5 Cabriolet, Audi Australia has today announced the introduction of the S5 Cabriolet to its local line-up.

Powered by a supercharged 3.0 litre supercharged V6 developing 245kW and 440Nm of torque, the S5 Cabriolet sprints to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds - just 0.5 seconds short of the V8-powered S5 Coupe.

The 3.0 litre V6 is boosted by a supercharger mounted between two banks of cylinders, pressurising the direct-injection 3.0 TFSI engine up to 0.8 bar, while two downstream intercoolers limit the temperature of the compressed intake air.

The supercharged engine's peak torque of 440Nm is available between 2900 and 5300rpm.

Top speed is an electronically-limited 250km/h, and fuel consumption is listed at 9.7 l/100km.

The 2010 S5 Cabriolet is offered with Audi's seven-speed S tronic direct-shift transmission only, foregoing the six-speed manual transmission offered with the S5 Coupe.

As with the hardtop S5 Coupe, the S5 Cabriolet features Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system, along with servotronic speed sensitive steering.

The S5 Cabriolet bears styling in-line with the hardtop S5's aggressive look, including revised front and rear, front spoiler and diffuser, sill trims and four tailpipes.

As with the hardtop, the exterior mirrors are finished in satin silver aluminium-look housings, and the Sprint Blue pearl effect paint finish is exclusive to the Cabriolet.

Inside, electrically adjustable Alcantara-trimmed sports seats feature, along with subtle grey instruments and a colour driver information display.

Audi's MMI Navigation Plus system features in the dash, and aluminium-look shift paddles and a centre armrest continue the S5's unique interior offerings.

Standard features include Xenon Plus headlights, LED daytime driving lights, Advanced key access, electric, heated front seats, cruise control, Audi Parking System Plus and an acoustic soft-top.

The S5 Cabriolet is available now for customer delivery and is priced from $138,100 (manufacturer list price includes GST & LCT where applicable).
