The folks over at Pistonheads recently got the time to pick the brains of Noble’s new managing director Peter Boutwood and managed to extract a few nuggets of information about Noble’s next supercar: the M600. According to Boutwood, the M600 is already in an advanced stage of its development, meaning the finished article can’t be far away. Noble also recently released a teaser pic of a camouflaged prototype (above) that shows the M600 won’t be diverging too drastically from the appearance of its predecessors.

Under those striped carbon-fibre cowlings lies a Yamaha-tuned Volvo V8 with twin turbochargers. Boutwood was coy about power figures, but he did mention that it was “More than sufficient”. However, if the previous 400hp M400 was anything to go by, the M600 name suggests that power output may be around the 600hp mark. The force-fed V8 will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox designed by Graziano Transmissioni.

In regards to handling, Boutwood said that the M600 would be, “A car that rewards the driver without the use of invasive computer assistance, a British sports car that is focused on ‘real’ driving purity…’analogue not digital’.”

He also said that it would be “predictable, communicative and precise”, and that as a whole the M600 would be conceptually similar to a Ferrari F40. It’s a big claim, and one that we should see validated (or disproved) fairly soon. Watch this space.
