FOLLOWING NOVEMBER'S unveiling of the 2010 BMW 5 Series, BMW has announced today that it will unveil the 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring in April.

With the biennial Frankfurt show in hiatus until next year, the 5 Series Touring will make its debut at the Leipzig Auto Mobil International, Germany's second-largest motor show.

BMW has not offered specific technical details for the new wagon, but the Touring will likely be offered in Europe with the same seven-engine powertrain line-up as its sedan counterpart.

In Australia, the growing acceptance of diesel engines means the 520d’s four-cylinder turbodiesel or the 530d’s inline-six turbodiesel engine could appear in the wagon when it makes its local debut, likely in late 2010.

BMW will also show the updated 2011 BMW X5 at Leipzig. BMW says the updated X5 is more powerful, more efficient and more luxurious than the outgoing model, although local specifications aren't expected to be confirmed until the June launch date draws nearer.

I would have liked the headlights to be a little bigger, they looks a bit small and out of proportion in comparison to the overall size of the car. I'd still have to see one in real life to be sure. I mean the 7-series doesn't seem as bad to look at in the metal, now when its the AC Schnitzer one anyway, haha.
