Audi RS6 Plus - even more power for the big banger

It’s difficult to believe that anyone would think the twin-turbocharged V10 Audi RS6 would need anymore power but it looks to be on the cards. Audi are not averse to tinkering with their RS line-up and the previous generation RS6 came in for some fettling during its dying days with the introduction of an RS6 ‘Plus’. The plus equated to an increase in power from 335kW/450hp to 358kW/480hp – not bad.

But it gets better with the current generation RS6. According to AutoTelegraaf, an Audi snitch has confirmed that Audi look set to bump the power up for another ‘Plus’ version. Already sporting a massive 432kW/580hp in standard tune, the ‘Plus’ will likely come packing 457kW/613hp worth of heat. Surely that has to be enough?

The only bad news is that the latest RS6 Plus will once again be a feature of the range in the last days of the models life and that means waiting until 2010 and then getting in quick as production will likely be limited to 999 units.
