BMW IS ADDING more efficient versions of the 330d and 335i Sedan to its Australian range, the diesel engine’s efficiency improved by 4.2 percent and the petrol engine by 8.8 percent.
Fuel consumption for the 330d Sedan has been reduced from 6.8 to 6.2 l/100km, while the 335i Sedan drops from 9.6 to 9.2 l/100km.
The savings come thanks to the addition of BMW’s Brake Energy Regeneration system, a technology the German luxury carmaker is swiftly adding to each of its model lines.
The updated 330d is also fitted with electric power steering, removing the energy drain of a conventional belt-driven hydraulic pump.
The update to the 330d is its first since its launch in Australia in July.
Powered by a six-cylinder 3.0 litre turbo-diesel engine, the 330d develops 180kW and 520Nm of torque (at 1750rpm).
The 335i, powered by a twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder, produces 225kW and 400Nm of torque.
Pricing
The updated 330d starts from $90,150, and the 335i from $107,800. Prices include GST and LCT, excluding dealer delivery and on-road costs.
Both models are available from December.

Amazing fuel economy for twin turbo six cylinder petrol engine.
Thats amazing power, economy and esp torque from the diesel. Some of the numbers they are pulling out of these high end engines these days is a credit to the companys engineers.
those percentages are wrong, but very impressive economy!
Hmmm… Not a fan of electric power steering. This has more to do with European legislation than what BMW customers actually want.
Are you sure that the cost includes GST and LCT?
