THIS YEAR'S CHINESE International Motor Show has played host to the unveiling of the updated 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Cosmetic updates to the Tiguan include a new grille and front bumper design, bringing the compact SUV's styling in line with the brand's newer models.

The new grille and front bumper rounds out the external changes, with the headlights and entire rear-end remaining untouched.

The Tiguan's interior changes are lighter still, with only the new standard Volkswagen three-spoke steering wheel and an updated instrument cluster the extent of the cabin's updates.

There is no word yet on whether the updated Tiguan will be accompanied by any mechanical or engine updates. An Australian debut is unclear at this time.
