Revolte Concept To Enter Production As Citroen DS2: Report

REPORTS OUT OF Europe today suggest that Citroen’s Revolte Concept, revealed at Frankfurt in September, is set to graduate to production status.

Badged as the DS2, the new 2CV-inspired (very loosely) model will sit below the 2010 DS3 as the entry-level option in Citroen’s DS line-up, according to France’s Auto Plus.

While the styling of the new model would be based on the Revolte, the concept’s more fanciful design elements - like the ‘coral trout’ grille, back-hinged rear doors and futuristic interior - would likely make way for more conventional features, .

A narrower track and larger headlights would likely join the production model’s specs. Whether the convertible accordion roof makes it to the road is uncertain.

To keep costs down, Auto Plus suggests the DS2 would draw its engine options from the upcoming next-generation C3.

There may be something behind this report from Auto Plus. Citroen has previously declined to comment on whether the Revolte is merely a design study, or a preview of things to come.

Niiice. I want one just as it is in the concept =) Don’t uglify the production one citroen!

The design is quite revolteing.

Paddy, that can’t “uglify” it any more than it already has been….

At least the name is accurate… Revolting indeed.

Better looking than that Hummer thing……
