The Ferrari that Ferrari has until recently refused to acknowledge is almost here, with the folks in Maranello preparing for the official reveal at this year’s Paris Motor Show. We have come to know the new ‘baby’ Ferrari as the F149 but for the time being at least, the official name is Ferrari GT.

The GT features a 2+2 front-engined configuration and is believed to use a 4.7-litre V8 with direct-injection that shares plenty in common with the V8 powering the F430. Drive will likely be via a dual-clutch gearbox.

Never one to fully embrace the awesome marketing potential of the Internet, Ferrari have thrown tradition and caution to the wind in the lead up to the GT’s Paris unveiling. To keep interest at boiling point, Ferrari have set-up a new site just for the GT - www.ferrarigtcountdown.com. Equipped with a countdown timer, you can duck over and hear the new GT in action. For those that prefer visual stimulation Ferrari plan to release their first image of the GT when the timer hits 0:00:00:00:00. Thats a little over 9 days away.

We can expect Ferrari to keep us constantly thrilled and titillated over the coming months in the lead-up to the September Paris Motor Show and the grand unveiling.
