OPERATION RAID (Remove All Impaired Drivers) returns tomorrow for a three-week blitz on drink driving.

Coming into its 16th year, the Australia-wide Operation RAID campaign saw more than 4000 motorists charged with drink or drug driving offences last year.

Over 569,000 breath tests were conduction during the campaign’s three-week run in 2008.

Over 20,000 motorists were fined for speeding and seat-belt offences.

The 2009 campaign begins at 12:01am AEDT on November 20, running to Saturday December 12.
