DUE TO LAND in Australia early next year, the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi was given a makeover for the SEMA motor show in the US.

The Kizashi is the Japanese carmaker's first entry in the mid-size sedan segment. To celebrate its upcoming debut, a trio of factory-supported Kizashis were wheeled out for the event.

The Delta Tech Engineering Kizashi features a cold air intake and performance exhaust, along with Koni springs and shocks.

Specific details weren't offered, but Delta says that custom sway bars and chassis stiffeners are included in its SEMA Kizashi offering.

Custom LED and HID lights feature up front, and inside is a Kenwood audio system and custom seating.

Two custom exhaust tips protrude from a redesigned rear bumper, a GT-style win sits atop the rear deck.

Shaved door handles and large BBS CH-style R-Worx wheels finish of the styling touches.

The final Kizashi went to Road Race, resulting in the subtlest of the three modified cars.

Following Suzuki's challenge to achieve a look that is "understated with creative vision," Road Race's Kizashi features a custom grille, front/rear lips and custom skirts.

A vented bonnet (though no turbo rests beneath) rounds out the styling touches.

A custom cold air intake lies under the bonnet, with a Zeitronix ZT-2 data logging system and Road Race's engine management system.

Road Race's own chassis stiffeners are used, while braking is handled by 330mm slotted discs up front and 260mm items at the rear.

Five Axis five-spoke alloy wheels feature, measuring 19x9.5 at the rear and 19x8.5 at the front (despite the Kizashi being a predominantly front-wheel-drive car).

Suzuki Australia confirmed that the Kizashi will arrive in Australia in the first half of 2010.

“Kizashi is scheduled for launch in the U.S. in late 2009 and we are keen to establish production and specification for Australia. With the addition of the just launched Alto and Kizashi, Suzuki would be competing in more market segments than ever before,” Tony Devers, Suzuki Australia General Manager, said

How soon before we see modified examples on the road is anyone's guess.
