Chrysler Submits New Logo For Patenting

SWEEPING CHANGES at Chrysler are due to be announced tomorrow, with all but the Jeep brand expected to retreat to North America and many models to be retired.

According to a filing with the US Patent and Trademark office, Chrysler might also be looking to mark the occasion with a brand-new logo... again.

Following the company's return to the iconic 'Pentastar' logo when it  was sold to Cerberus Capital Management in 2007, Chrysler appears to be readying a new identity, evolving and streamlining the winged style of its existing vehicle badging.

With a hint of Aston Martin in the overall design, the more upmarket design of the new identity features a blue embossed Chrysler motif against sharp, highly stylised outstretched wings.

More details of Chrysler's new identity are likely to be revealed along with the unveiling of Fiat's plans for its struggling US partner tomorrow. Watch this space.
