Victoria Police To Double Random Drug Tests

VICTORIA POLICE will double the number of random drug tests it conducts, from around 20,000 to 40,000 by the end of 2012.

Deputy Commissioner for Road Policing Ken Lay said the program, which tests for methylamphetamine (Speed, Ice),  MDMA (Ecstasy) and delta-9 tetra-hydrocannabinol (Cannabis), will be expanded across the state.

"Police from all five of the state’s regional boundaries will be equipped to greatly increase the number of random drug tests performed," he said.

"Drug drivers are an emerging problem for police and the expansion of this program will see more drivers tested, and ultimately, more drivers caught for driving while drug affected."

Approximately 22,998 roadside drug tests were conducted in the past year, with 341 offenders - one in 67 - caught with an illicit substance in their system.

By comparison, the strike rate for drunk drivers caught with a blood alcohol content higher than .05 is around one in 160.

The expanded program will include the purchase of 25 additional testing devices and 25,000 roadside testing kits - at a cost of around $10 million to the Victorian State Government.

"We’ll be running drug testing operations of a similar nature to booze bus operations," he said.

"Drivers will now be tested for drugs by police cars as well as drugs buses. Motorists can expect to be drug-tested anywhere, at anytime."

"We know there are drug affected drivers on the roads, and we’ll be working hard to remove as many of them as possible," Mr Lay said.

Interestingly…. The Police in Australia are not seeking to reduce drug affected drivers, NOR are they wanting to reduce the road toll.

If they took Policing SERIOUSLY they would drug test politicians leaving Parliament… (I wonder how many USERS they’d catch with that one)

The primary ambition for this blatant overbearing over-policing is DATABASING. Databasing every citizen even for the smallest infraction creates a wealth of personal information which they really should not a have a right to.

When the public have had enough of being fined and questioned for ordinary Human behaviours, perhaps it will be time the public begun to Database THEM and the Police criminal activities.

This has nothing to do with saving lives or law compliance. It is pure 1943 Germany. WAKE UP PEOPLE> Smell the Pork fried coffee… 10 million citizens standing around all saying “well, what can I do, Im just one person” Is no excuse anymore…

Great to see ……..they are doubling random drug tests for the Victorian Police Force - crikey, that should half the force caught out….oh, sorri, it’s for the citizens! What are they going to use to catch the methamphetamine user - speed cameras no doubt. Rusty.

Moroni (Or should I call you Moron?)

Here’s a thought.. They can’t construct their One Database for the Australian Nazi Party(???) if people weren’t going to either Drink over the limit and Drive, Speed, or take “ILLEGAL” substances and drive. So let’s face it… To stop the Nazi’s all you would need to do is NOT do any of this and it wouldn’t be a problem to you… I’ve gone through some of these stops before. Yes officer, hows your night officer… No I haven’t done any illegal drugs lick, blow, bye bye” I can’t remember being asked for DNA tests, Family History, Tax File Numbers etc etc etc…

You conspiracy nut people make me lol… :)

China could get some tips off the Vic Police Force

Isn’t rampant paranoia a side effect of drug use……?

“Markus Moroni” you are doomed, they know where you live and they ARE coming to get you.

Response:
Should I respond to you as Hitler? Or as pissweak?

Charming name. At least I have the GUTS to use my real name. Typical of the type of response I would expect from a troll.. As far as your lame comment…

“I’ve gone through some of these stops before. ..”

What you’ve actually done is been detained without charge to determine IF there is a crime that has been committed. Funny enough detention without a valid reason is still illegal in Australia. However being as you obviously use sarcasm as wit and its only half correct…. I can assume you are a halfwit and dont know that already. *(Stick with collecting Holden racing team polo shirts)

What you have inadvertantly done is ignorantly complied with an illegal order by a glorified Public servant who has disturbed the peace and flow of the public free movements in a public place, purely to satisfy a corrupt organisations desire to compile your name and rego on their database of vehicles in a specific area at that specific time.

Of course being as you called yourself “Hitler” I think you probably know a thing or two about population control and cataloging measures. After all IBM assisted Hitler with the databasing of their “population under control” (Look it up)_

And .as far as :

… I really wouldn’t know about paranoia or drug use. Besides, my psychiatrist and evaluation team say I’m totally cured now…. lol :-P

Seriously though “They” wont ever “come for me” cos they know very clearly THEY would be the ones under surveillance if they ever tried. God BLESS the digital age.
