FOLLOWING RECENT photos of a camouflaged 3 Series Convertible on the roads of Europe, new photos this week reveal that the M3 Convertible is in line for some updates of its own.

Unlike the revised front bumper set to appear on the regular 3 Series Convertible, BMW seems content to retain the M3 Convertible's already aggressive countenance.

Focusing on the rear end, the only updates the M3 Convertible looks likely to get are revised tail lights, the same LED units seen on the recently spied 3 Series Convertible.

SPY PHOTOS obtained last month show that testing for an updated 2010 X5 is nearing completion.

Our new rendering, above, offers a glimpse of what may be lurking beneath BMW's trademark psychedelic camouflage.

Changes to the X5 will be subtle, focused largely on the front and rear bumpers, along with minor updates to the tail lights.

Larger chin intakes and a reshaped central intake could be on the agenda, while the rear bumper may be re-shaped to accommodate a pair of rhomboid tailpipes.

Much of the X5’s current engine line-up is expected to carry over, but the 300kW twin-turbocharged 4.4 litre V8 from the BMW X6 xDrive50i may be added to the X5 range in some markets.

The facelifted 2010 BMW X5 is anticipated to make its debut at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January. Timing for a local release has yet to be determined
