BMW EfficientDynamics Credit Cuts Prices By $4000

TAKING A LEAF out of successful scrappage schemes overseas, BMW is offering buyers an ‘EfficientDynamics Credit’ worth $4000 on every new BMW ordered and delivered before November 30.

Describing its fleet as the most environmentally-friendly of any premium carmaker, BMW says the $4000 credit will be used to reduce the manufacturer’s list price of any new BMW at participating dealers.

With the EfficientDynamics Credit, the entry-level BMW 118i Sports Hatch drops from $38,900 to $34,900.

The top-end 730d, which consumes a miserly 6.8 l/100km, is reduced from $198,800 to $194,800.

“The BMW EfficientDynamics Credit is designed to reward drivers who choose a vehicle from Europe’s most efficient premium fleet,” Stavros Yallouridis, Managing Director of BMW Group Australia said.

“It builds on similar ideas from overseas fleet renewal schemes and is designed to generate customer awareness of the benefits of BMW EfficientDynamics,” he said.

According to the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA), BMW has the most efficient premium fleet in Europe, achieving fuel consumption and emission levels below the overall average of all European car manufacturers.

In Germany, the fleet average for all new BMW’s sold in 2008 was 160 grams of CO2 per kilometre.  Mercedes-Benz averaged 189g/km, and Audi 176g/km.

Strong Australian Dollar dressed up as BMW doing customers a favour.

Spot on, Trump.

Don’t disagree with you Trump but we can’t expect any manufacturer to change their pricing every time the exchange rates changes. Still, at least they’re doing it. They probably want to keep sales from stagnating whilst people hold out for the import tax change in January. Apparently Mazda are going to be doing something similar.

That’ll cover the costs of all the extras you’ll have to buy to bring the car up to equivalent with the stock equipment offered by Japanese car markers, then..!
