Corvette ZR1 lapping the Ring in low 7:40's - video

The Corvette ZR1 - GM's supercharged 6.2-litre V8 (LS9) powered hot rod has taken to the Nurburgring for some hot shoe shuffling. Estimates have it pegging lap times in the low 7:40's placing it up there with some of the faster cars on the planet. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have the new GT-R's measure, with the GT-R recording a 7:38 and the upcoming V-Spec version rumoured to be capable of a 7:25...

A lightweight 450kW+ Corvette may not have the electronic gee-whizzery of the GT-R but it certainly has its charms. Click through to see the ZR1 lapping the 'Ring.
