JOINING RECENT updates across the Suzuki motorcycle model line-up, the 2010 Suzuki DR-Z400S trail bike and DR-Z400SM Super Motard are now available in Australia.

With refreshed graphics and new colour schemes, both the road-legal DR-Z400S and DR-Z400SM are powered by a 398cc four-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC engine.

Utilising a lightweight, narrow and compact chrome-moly frame, the DR-Z400S rides on long-travel cartridge-type front suspension and progressive rear-linkage rear suspension.

Built on the same chrome-moly frame and alloy subframe, the DR-Z400SM features RM-Z-spec 47mm upside-down forks, which the Japanese manufacturer claims will deliver a compact, responsive ride.

Large 310mm front discs - the same size as those used on the GSX-R1000 - and 240mm rear discs handle braking duties for the DR-Z400SM, and the DR-Z400S gets 250mm discs up front and 220mm discs at the rear.

Both bikes are covered by Suzuki's one-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

The 2010 DR-Z400SM is priced at $8,990, and the DR-Z400S at $8,290. Both prices are inclusive of GST, but exclude on-road costs.
